I’m Tess Malone, a graduate student, gourmet and grammar geek.
I’m currently a journalism master’s student at University of Missouri, where I’m studying magazine editing. In my spare time, I’m a literary nerd. I do social media for The Millions, so if you have any weird literary links — I’m your girl. I’m also an intern at The Missouri Review, where I read fiction manuscripts and curate the Tumblr. Previously, I was the managing editor for Vox Magazine and an enterprise reporter at the Columbia Missourian, unofficially covering the hipster beat.
A dyed-in-the-gingham Midwesterner, I grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota. I spent my first two years of undergrad at The George Washington University in D.C. and then studied abroad in Scotland and never left. I graduated with a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh in June 2012. At Edinburgh, I was the co-editor in chief of The Student Newspaper, where the style guide I created still lives on to the horror of those who use passive voice.
In my free time, I bake, take photos and watch a lot of movies.
